About me
How I Think About Instructional Design
I like seeing what happens when good questions meet practical constraints.
A learner only has so much time.
An SME only has so much availability.
A team only has so many resources.
And now we have AI eagerly volunteering to help at every turn.
Those constraints don't frustrate me. They're usually where the most interesting design decisions live.
Whether I'm working with SMEs, exploring a new AI workflow, or designing a learning experience, I'm often looking for opportunities to simplify, clarify, and make something more useful to the person on the receiving end.
Not every idea becomes a finished project, but exploration has a way of revealing better questions, better tools, and occasionally better solutions.
Because in my experience, effective instructional design isn't just about building learning experiences. It's about understanding problems well enough to determine where instruction creates value and where a different solution might work better.
The projects that follow aren't just examples of learning experiences. They're examples of how thoughtful analysis, collaboration, and design decisions came together to solve real problems.

Whether I’m working with SMEs, exploring a new AI workflow, or designing a learning experience, I’m often looking for opportunities to simplify, clarify, and make something more useful to the person on the receiving end.
Some ideas turn into learning experiences. Others become prototypes, experiments, or abandoned rabbit holes that taught me something anyway. I’m fond of all of them.
